I am a wife and mother of 6 children, and I live in Columbus Ohio. I have served in many roles in the Movement over the past 20 years and am currently assisting the local director, serve as a spiritual guide, and am the Challenge Club president. Of all the wonderful and amazing things we do in RC, I would have to say my absolute favorite is Holy Week Missions! It’s what we do!
Way back when, when I first came to know about Regnum Christi and was discerning my vocation, a little inferno had ignited in my heart. I had known for some time that the Lord wanted something of me, but I didn’t know what and I prayed for Him to lead me. So that little inferno in my heart was a confirmation for me. What joy to finally find what Our Lord wanted of me, and what joy to discover and learn more and more about this incredible gift He wanted to give me, called Regnum Christi. To discover that it was made up of men and women of self-conviction, convinced of Christ, and dedicated to the formation of authentic men and women of the Kingdom, being fully identified with our cause. ‘YES’ (my heart exulted), I am wholeheartedly ‘in’! Since I had been feeling all alone in my spiritual journey up until this point, I quickly understood how much I need my Regnum Christi family.
Fast forward many years (years of both joy and sorrow). This period of renewal has been a time of significant spiritual growth for me, particularly the study of themes in preparation for the renewal. The Church as a mystery of communion and the “spirituality of communion” are themes that we can never plumb the depths of. Our unity and charity are our greatest strengths. I think one of the most important fruits (and there will be many) of this process is that we will build communion among all branches of our spiritual family and in our mission. May we always deepen this transcendent bond which unites us!
I look forward to this process and listening to what each person has to contribute, and seeing how the Holy Spirit is at work. As I began to read and review the working document Chapter 1, the identity, goal and spirituality of the Regnum Christi Movement, I noticed something familiar happening in my heart. There goes that little inferno again!
