Fr Andrew Gronotte was born and raised in Northern KY. His mom, Mary Anne, and Sister, Elizabeth still live in the area. He also has a brother who is a priest in the Legion of Christ, Fr Christopher. His dad, Tim Gronotte, passed away a few years ago and had been very involved in Camp River Ridge and in Regnum Christi in the Cincinnati area. Fr Andrew is very happy to be able to move back to his native area.
Fr Andrew joined the Legion when he was just 13 yrs old and went to the Apostolic School where his vocation to the priesthood was nourished. From there he was sent to Monterrey Mexico, where he made his first profession, afterwards he studied in Cheshire, CT and Rome, Italy. While in Rome he lived in the Legion's headquarters helping serve the legion's leadership while he studied philosophy and theology.
Fr Andrew was ordained to the priesthood in 2016. He began his ministry in Washington DC, continuing what he did during his pastoral years in the seminary, leading the ECYD boy's section and managing Camp Castleton. After having served 3 yrs as a seminarian and 4 yrs as a priest there, he was asked to transfer to Atlanta to serve as assistant chaplain to Holy Spirit Prep for the past 3 yrs. During his ministry he has lead 10 international mission trips for families and high schoolers, done various pilgrimages to Rome and just recently help lead a group of 70 young adults with Rachel Peach to World Youth Day to Portugal. He is excited to be able to continue to help minister to ECYD in the Cincinnati area and all the families and youth that participate in conquest and Camp River Ridge, hoping to continue his dad's legacy and bring Jesus to as many people that God allows.
