Fr. Lucio - "My First Months as a Priest Spent at Camp River Ridge"

Most of my apostolate revolves around a 144-acre hilly property outside of a small, picturesque German town in eastern central Indiana – the site of Camp River Ridge. We’re in the slow process of fundraising and constructing new facilities to host summer camps, weekend camps, and family campouts. There is so much potential for this campsite. I’m already beginning to see the first fruits of new families, parishes and schools that are gaining interest.
I also work with several boys’ clubs in the Cincinnati area. Although I have many opportunities for ministry with youth and families, much of my time is spent on administrative tasks, promotion, and preparing for events. However, celebrating my daily Mass reminds me that I was ordained to offer the sacrifice of the Lord in the Mass for the good of the world, the wellbeing of the Church, and the salvation of souls.
By faith I know that the Lord has made me his priest. I carry a sublime gift in an earthen vessel. Little by little I grow into the priest the Lord has planned for me from all eternity. In the meantime, I ask for your prayers!
