Thy Kingdom Come!
Hello, my name is Rachel Peach. I am from Hartville, Ohio, which is located between Akron and Canton. Many of you know my sister, Mary, who has been involved in ECYD and Regnum Christi here for many years. We both recently moved here, and it has been amazing to share a spiritual family and mission within my own family.
I am the oldest of nine kids and was involved in Challenge/ECYD in middle school and high school. During those years, I met the Consecrated Women. After high school, I discerned my vocation and discovered His call to follow Him here!
I made my first temporary vows in 2010, and spent the first four years studying for my BA in Religious and Pastoral Studies from Mater Ecclesiae College in Rhode Island. After I graduated, I was sent to Houston, Texas, for my internship. There I worked as an assistant campus minister for Northwoods Catholic School for two years.
In September 2016, I made my final vows as a Consecrated Woman of Regnum Christi. I was one of the first generations of Consecrated Women who had a longer period of discernment, which gave me time to live our vocation, to be tested in it, and to discover that it was something that made me more fully alive and who I truly was. After six years of living my temporary vows as a consecrated woman -- both in a formation center and in the field of ministrym as well as through the different seasons of life and vocation -- I gave my forever""YES" to God... to be His in Regnum Christi.
I had the huge gift to continue serving in Houston for the next four years. My ministry changed, and I became the youth minister at Sts. Simon and Jude Catholic Church in The Woodlands, Texas. Over 250 youth were involved in the their program, and I enjoyed the challenge of engaging young people in faith formation through middle school and high school. In addition, I was able to be a bridge between Regnum Christi and the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston and local parishes, as well as witness first-hand how our charism is a response to the needs of the Church and our times. I also supported the local ECYD/Challenge clubs and RC high school groups across Houston and accompanied moms and the high school team leaders to provide weekly experiences that were fun, formative, and spiritual. I loved being a part of the lives and families of so many youth -- watching them grow in their friendship with Christ and their life journeys over those six years.
In September 2020, I arrived to Cincinnati, Ohio., and quickly began to get to know the families, youth, and reality of this locality. I am grateful for this new opportunity, and looking forward to seeing what God has in store for me here.
