The consecrated community of Regnum Christi here in Cincinnati began our new year together with a time of peaceful, prayer filled rest and togetherness by the shore, thanks to the kindness of a family who lent us their home for this blessed beginning to the new “year.”
Why is that so significant? The call from Jesus to serve in the Ohio Valley is for all of us a blessing and a promise. Jesus spent time alone with his disciples, in love and fellowship, while also challenging them to go out and bring the Gospel to the whole world.
The challenges contained in the reality of the COVID 19 pandemic meant adjustments, and brought with it the deeper realization of how our mission springs from our own encounter with Christ. It has also reminded us how this encounter flows forth from our fraternal life being strengthened in joy and personal sharing. We enjoyed the time spent together as community, in anticipation of taking on the mission Christ calls each of us to in this coming school year.
This year’s community consists of consecrated women devoted to youth and young adult work, work with the adult members of Regnum Christi, work with the consecrated women in this territory and work with vocational ministry in the diocese. We thank God for this year ahead, with all that it may bring, and all those with whom we will work and encounter on our path this year.
